The doctor’s journey into medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University in 1990. He then went on to perform his internship and residency in general surgery at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. This was followed by an additional residency in general surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and a fellowship in heart transplant and minimally invasive cardiac surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
