    Dr. Bartlik is an incredible physician. She takes a holistic approach to mental wellness and doesn't just prescribe pharmaceuticals. With her help, I was able to treat a severe and disabling anxiety and insomnia problem mostly through lifestyle and nutrition changes. She is also a very kind person and I always felt welcome and safe in appointments.

She completed her psychiatry residency and research fellowship at New York University Medical Center / Bellevue Hospital (now NYU Langone Health), and went on to become an associate in the practice of the late pioneering sex therapist, Helen Singer Kaplan, M.D. She also treated severely mentally ill patients at Manhattan and Rockland Psychiatric Centers, New York State Office of Mental Health.  Dr. Bartlik is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds additional certifications in integrative medicine from the American Board of Physician Specialties and in sexology from the American Board of Sexology. In 2019 she was named a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and was recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors.          

Dr. Bartlik has published numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters, and is a co-editor and an author of Integrative Sexual Health (2018), a volume in the [Dr. Andrew] Weil Integrative Medicine Library, published by Oxford University Press. Barbara D. Bartlick, MD, attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City, NY, and received her medical degree in 1981. Then, she served her internship and psychiatry residency at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York (1981-1985). Furthermore, she conducted a research fellowship at the same teaching venue (1985-1987).
