Dr. Barbara Bartlik is not just your average psychiatrist. With over three decades of experience in private practice in the heart of Manhattan, she has become a beacon of expertise in the complex realms of integrative medicine, psychiatry, and sexual health. 

Offering a comprehensive range of services to individuals and couples seeking support for psychiatric, relationship, and sexual health concerns, Dr. Bartlik is not content with merely practicing within the confines of her office walls. She is a trailblazer, pioneering telehealth sessions to reach and heal individuals far beyond the bustling streets of New York City.

In her practice, Dr. Bartlik addresses a wide array of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and autism spectrum disorders. She also specializes in treating diverse sexual dysfunctions, hormonally-related concerns, weight management issues, and conditions such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Moreover, Dr. Bartlik is dedicated to helping individuals achieve more satisfying sexual expression, particularly in later stages of life.

Dr. Bartlik’s extensive academic background includes an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Hartford (1977) and a Medical Degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1981), where she studied neurology with the late Dr. Oliver Sacks. She completed her psychiatry residency and research fellowship at New York University Medical Center / Bellevue Hospital (now NYU Langone Health), and went on to become an associate in the practice of the late pioneering sex therapist, Helen Singer Kaplan, MD. Dr. Bartlik also treated severely mentally ill patients at Manhattan and Rockland Psychiatric Centers, New York State Office of Mental Health.  

Board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she holds additional certifications in integrative medicine from the American Board of Physician Specialties and in sexology from the American Board of Sexology. 

As a recognized expert in her field, Dr. Bartlik serves as a member of the voluntary faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College and on the voluntary staff at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital. Her commitment to providing compassionate, holistic care has solidified her reputation as a leading expert in mental health and sexual wellness.

In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the field of psychiatry and integrative medicine, Dr. Bartlik was honored as a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and included in Castle Connolly’s list of Top Doctors. She has contributed to various scientific publications and textbook chapters and is a co-editor and author of “Integrative Sexual Health” (2018), a comprehensive resource on sexual health published by Oxford University Press.
