Recognized as a Center of Excellence for ophthalmology care, Meadows Eye Physicians & Surgeons offers evidence-based, compassionate service. They ensure every patient has a thorough understanding of his or her condition, the recommended diagnostic tests, and the treatment options available.

Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Bodnar began his career in the software industry after receiving his undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT. He later chose to focus his career in medicine, and went on to complete his medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He then performed a residency in ophthalmology at St. Louis University, and a fellowship in ocular pathology at the prestigious Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City where he gained invaluable experience in understanding ocular diseases.

Prior to beginning his surgical retina training, he completed a fellowship in ophthalmology innovation at Stanford University where he was directly involved in the design of new technologies for diagnosing and treating ophthalmic diseases.

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Bodnar attained board certification in ophthalmology through the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists (eye physicians and surgeons) in the United States.

To advance his professional efforts, he remains an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also affiliated with Summerlin Hospital Medical Center.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.

Achieving excellence in his field, Dr. Bodnar has authored numerous scientific papers and is an active reviewer for various Ophthalmic Journals.

When he is not in the office, he enjoys home-brewing beer and exploring the outdoors with his family and his dog, Stella.
