  • What can I do to naturally build immunity for my 5 year old?

Hi, There are a lot of things you can do for your 5-year-old starting with nutrient dense foods. Chicken soup with lots of vegetables is one of those types of meals - it has protein to build the immune system and lots of nutrients are in the broth as well. Sleep is when we heal, so lots of rest. Vitamin C and omega oils are also building blocks for immune cells, so adding these the diet can be useful. Hand washing with soap, not hand sanitizers, will keep germs at bay without destroying any beneficial skin bacteria. Essential oils diffused in your home can also kill germs. I hope this helps. Happy Holidays and good luck with the winter season. Dr. Cristopher Bosted READ MORE

  • Is Propidren safe and effective for hair loss? How does it work?

Congratulations on your new baby! There are many reasons for hair loss including thyroid changes, adrenal stress and the hormone changes with postpartum. Based on the ingredients list, propidren will affect hormones. From a naturopathic perspective, it is best to try to understand why the hair loss is occurring, in your case through labs and further discussion before treating it. I would get a CBC, thyroid panel, estradiol, total testosterone, free testosterone, DHEA-S, and cortisol and maybe and DHT. Your provider will know what all these test are and can discuss them with you. In health, Dr Bosted READ MORE

  • My mother has a constant headache despite the medications she is taking. What can I do to help her?

The goal of naturopathic medicine is to find and treat the cause of the headaches. There are a lot of wonderful remedies out there, but I would want to first try to find the cause of these headaches and then figure out what remedy best suits your mom, be that herbal supplements, lifestyle changes, or body work.
