What happens if stitches aren't removed?
Some stitches are intentionally not removed because they are designed to dissolve over time. Other stitches that do not dissolve must be removed. When this type is not removed in a timely fashion, the skin will begin to grow over the suture material, which then becomes embedded, creating a potential nidus for infection. READ MORE
Is getting a cyst removed painful?
Your surgeon should use plenty of local anesthetic (numbing medicine). You should only feel a small pin prick sensation when the needle is inserted. If the anesthetic is buffered with bicarb it doesn't even burn when injected. Some surgeons offer something for relaxation or to minimize anxiety prior to the procedure. READ MORE
Should I do something with my neck cyst?
