Dr. Jay Older is board certified in ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of ophthalmology from which he received both the honor award and the senior honor award for distinguished service in the field of education. He is also a fellow of the American College of surgeons. He is past president of the American Society of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery and a member of the European society of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has lectured on the subject of eyelid surgery in America, Europe, and Asia. In recent years Dr. Older has lectured in the United States and Europe about the value of radio surgery and oculoplastics. His textbook, Eyelid Tumors: Clinical Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment, received the honorable mention award from the American medical writers Association in 1988. Dr. Older‘s publications include 40 articles for scientific journals and 18 book chapters. He has been on the editorial board of Ophthalmic Surgery, Ophthalmic Plastic and Revonstructive Surgery and Ocular Surgery News. Dr. Older graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa honor Society. His medical education and his ophthalmology training were done at Stanford University. After finishing his residency in ophthalmology, Dr. Older completed A fellowship in ocular plastic surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Older has been listed in the Best Doctors in America, Who’s Who in the world, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in science and engineering and Town and Country magazine where he was featured as one of the nation’s top oculoplastic surgeons .
