He then relocated to the United States, performing his internship in internal medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1992, and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at SUNY – Downstate Medical Center in 1997.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FAAPMR), he is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.
