Memorial Hospital Belleville is a 212-bed acute care Magnet-designated hospital offering emergency and critical care services as well as medical and surgical along with a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services. Also located on the Belleville campus, The Orthopedic and Neurosciences Center offers a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes physical, occupational, speech, and hand therapy.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Boivin earned his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in 1985, and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1989.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. Anesthesiologists have a vast amount of responsibilities that include vigilant monitoring of the patient’s vital signs during surgery, managing acute pain, maintaining safety, and most importantly, acting as the patient’s advocate in the operating room.
