About

Dr. Thomas Su is the owner and cosmetic surgeon of Artlipo Liposuction & Lipedema Surgery. He has led a full-time clinic specializing in awake-only liposuction since 2007. Dr. Su began his medical career in internal medicine, practicing that until 2005 when he began to provide a full spectrum of non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

Compared to other cosmetic or plastic surgeons who perform a myriad of different surgeries, Dr. Su concentrates on only liposuction. He has developed advanced skills and a level of expertise that few surgeons doing liposuction can master. Dr. Su is the innovator of the Interactive Lipo Method and Celebrity Arms™ Sculpting. The Interactive Lipo Method is a culmination of techniques derived from Dr. Su’s background as a figure artist and sculptor.

Esteemed Liposuction and Lipedema Specialist Combining Creativity and Precision for Transformative Patient Outcomes

Thomas Su, MD, a leading cosmetic surgeon and innovative expert in Lipo 360° of the arms and legs, as well as the treatment of lipedema, is making waves in the world of cosmetic surgery. As the owner of Artlipo Lipedema Surgery & Celebrity Arms™ Liposuction Center in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Su has positioned himself and his team at the forefront of lipedema reduction surgery and arm liposuction on a global scale.

Since the inception of his full-time clinic specializing in awake-only liposuction in 2007, Dr. Su has dedicated nearly two decades to helping patients achieve remarkable results. He and his esteemed team have cared for countless lipedema patients over the years, establishing themselves as one of the premier Lipedema Centers internationally. Their commitment to delivering consistently high levels of symptom improvement sets them apart from other facilities. Patients from around the world seek out Dr. Su’s expertise, drawn by the promise of ultra-complete and aesthetically stunning results that come with his specialized techniques.

The treatment of lipedema differs significantly from traditional cosmetic liposuction, which often involves conservative treatment of small patches on the thighs and arms. Dr. Su understands that effective lipedema treatment necessitates a circumferential approach, or Lipo 360°, targeting the entire legs and arms for optimal results. This advanced form of liposuction, once absent from the plastic surgery landscape, has been brought to life by Dr. Su through his artistic vision and surgical innovation.

A unique aspect of Dr. Su’s practice is his artistic background, which few cosmetic surgeons possess. His passion for art blossomed in high school, leading him to study human figure drawing, painting, and sculpting in college, culminating in a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. This foundation in art informs his work in liposuction, fueling a high degree of perfectionism and an eye for aesthetic detail that is evident in every procedure he performs.

Dr. Su’s medical journey began in internal medicine, but in 2005, he transitioned to provide a full spectrum of non-invasive cosmetic procedures. Unlike many cosmetic surgeons who diversify their practices, Dr. Su focuses solely on liposuction. This concentrated approach has allowed him to develop advanced skills and a level of expertise that few peers can match. He is the mind behind the Interactive Lipo Method and the trademarked Celebrity Arms™ Sculpting, both of which draw from his background as a figure artist and sculptor.

The Interactive Lipo Method incorporates sculpting techniques akin to those a master sculptor might employ, whether shaping wood, clay, or stone. Such techniques are not traditionally part of liposuction training, making Dr. Su’s approach unique and highly sought after. He regularly shares his insights at cosmetic surgery society meetings, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) and the American Society of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery (ASCOP), while also teaching these methods to fellow surgeons. His expertise is further encapsulated in his book, Celebrity Arms™ in a Day – Body Sculpting with the New Interactive Lipo Method.

Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Su continues to engage with his artistic roots in human figure drawing, participating in numerous juried art exhibitions, including the prestigious Nude Nite Tampa, a celebrated annual art event. His dedication to both art and medicine underscores his profound understanding of the human form and its beauty.
