With a passion for his field and an unwavering commitment to his specialty, Dr. Roberts also serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, as well as holds board certification in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology.
A graduate of both Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, and The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Roberts practiced dermatology in Amarillo for 30 years. Following graduation from medical school, he completed an internship in internal medicine in the US Air Force, and served both on active duty and in the New Mexico Air National Guard for over twelve years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He spent five of those years as a flight surgeon, caring for pilots and their families, as well as flying in many different helicopters, fighters, and tactical aircraft. Along the way, he earned both his pilot’s license and a master’s degree in Military History from the American Military University.
As a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, the doctor has participated in medical mission trips, including one to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2004, for which the American Academy of Dermatology recognized him with the annual award of “Members Making A Difference.”
