Is it bad to not wear glasses if you need them?
Refractive error (the need for glasses) is entirely a matter of physics. Either the eye is too long, too short, or not round. Not wearing them can cause children and adults, to get headaches of varying intensity, working mostly by astenopia (eye fatigue). I have seen many children fall behind in school work (they can't see the chalk board), and unfortunately some were even left back a year in school. Later in adults, we get presbyopia (need reading glasses, after age 40). Severe refractive errors can cause AMBLYOPIA, a condition that needs to be discovered, as early as possible (like age 3 or 4). Lastly, cell phones and computers are the worst things for our eyes, but they are not going anywhere, as they have completely taken over out society. READ MORE
