Get to know Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Deirdre Ryan, who serves patients in Las Vegas, Nevada.

An attentive pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ryan is in practice with Children’s Bone & Spine Surgery, operating out of both offices in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her specialties include pediatric orthopedic surgery, Spina Bifida, and limb reconstruction.

Maintaining training in the necessary techniques and technologies, she strives to give her patients the highest standard of care. Her practice has encompassed patient-centered care that gives back to the Las Vegas community. 

Her hospital affiliations include Sunrise Hospital Medical Center; Dignity Health – St. Rose Dominican, Siena Campus; and Summerlin Hospital Medical Center.

In regards to her educational background, Dr. Ryan graduated with her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. in 1997. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at The McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, as well as her fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

She worked for 10 years at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in Gait Analysis. Dr. Ryan trained in general pediatric orthopedics, neuromuscular conditions, fracture care, limb length, and alignment disorders.

Devoted to her speciality, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

To stay current in her field, Dr. Ryan maintains professional memberships in the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons of North America, the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. A pediatric orthopedic surgeon is the best-trained and most experienced doctor to properly evaluate and treat musculoskeletal (bone, joint, or muscle) problems in a child who is still growing. This includes newborn babies through teenagers.

Throughout her career, Dr. Ryan has been awarded and honored for her clinical practice and medical research, including the Patients’ Choice Award. She has also published many scientific articles on orthopedics, trauma, and neuromuscular conditions such as Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida. 

When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with friends and family members.
