  • Is gum pain normal after root canal?

If done properly a root canal requires the placement of a dental dam. The clamp that hold this device tight against the tooth can put pressure on the gums. Due to the length of time the dental dam is in place during the procedure the gums can be sore for a few days after. You can reduce the soreness with what ever you take for any head or muscle ache. It should resolve in a couple days. READ MORE

  • How often should you floss dental bridge?

You should floss under the bridge with a floss threader at least once a day. If you would like you can use a waterpik to get under the bridge. If you use a waterpik(any model will work, so the least expensive one) brushe your teeth first, spit out excess tooth paste DON’T rinse. Then use the waterpik the residual tooth paste has abrasives in it and will help clean the underside of the bridge. This may work better than flossing. READ MORE

  • Can you get braces if you have bad gums?

It’s probably not a good idea to get braces if you have bad gums. However, at the age of 17, you can get your gums in great shape in just 2 weeks. If you go to a reputable dentist and get a cleaning, then brush and floss and rinse with Listerine twice a day, your gums should be in tiptop condition. Unless there is an underlying condition, or it’s been over a year since your last cleaning, this is all you need to do to keep your gums healthy and ready for braces. Of course, you have to continue this into the filter even while the braces are on. Good luck and keep brushing. READ MORE

  • What are the side effects of titanium implants?

There really are no side effects. At this point implants are one of our most reliable treatments. If you have enough bone to support the implants the only downside is healing time and cost. Good luck with what ever treatments you choose but 95% of implants placed 20 years ago are in the mouths and functioning for the patients that got them placed. READ MORE
