Dr. Prasad is an experienced podiatrist and trained surgeon who is passionate about preventing and treating foot problems to eliminate the need for surgery whenever possible. He is the owner & operator of Garden State Foot & Ankle Group in Toms River, New Jersey.
As such, he offers comprehensive care exploring both non-surgical and surgical treatment options based on his patient’s needs and lifestyle. Specializing in foot and ankle surgeries and ailments, as well as sports injuries to the foot and ankle, he tends to issues such as diabetic foot care, gout, limb salvage, peripheral artery disease, ankle and heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, foot and ankle fractures, plantar fasciitis, plantar warts, and more. His goal is to provide patients with an experience that leaves them feeling better and gives them that bounce back in their step.
Focusing on disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower leg, Dr. Prasad also joined The Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2011. He is one of the only surgeons in the area trained to perform the STAR Total Ankle Joint Replacement and Wireless Hammer Toe Repair, providing a quicker recovery time. He also uses the latest technology to perform endoscopic plantar fasciotomy.
Locally, he is on staff at Clara Maass Medical Center, Community Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, New Jersey Surgery Center, and Metropolitan Surgery Center.
Born and raised in East Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Prasad completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University, and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. His surgical training was completed at both Our Lady of Mercy in the Bronx and St. Vincent’s Hospital Brooklyn-Queens. He then continued with advanced training in foot and ankle surgery with nationally-renowned surgeon, Dr. Stanley Kalish, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Feeling that Ocean County was a great place to begin his career and raise a family, Dr. Prasad opened his practice originally in Lakewood, and recently moved to his current location in Toms River.
A member of the Filipino-American Medical Association, he is board-certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, which strives to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by advancing the art and science of foot and ankle surgery.
