Partial knee replacement
Spinal anesthesia is an excellent choice. If I were having this surgery that is what I would choose. Another alternative is epidural anarthria (also in the back) with a catheter to give you several days of pain control. Dr. Odell Las Vegas READ MORE
What anesthesia is best for wrist surgery?
If it is simple wrist surgery such as carpal tunnel syndrome, I recommend foolproof (I chose this myself. For more complex wrist surgery, you can choose either regional anesthesia (a block) or GA, or both. The additional the peripheral block will give enhanced postoperative pain relief. Specific of the block depend on what the specific surgery is. READ MORE
Can you have a colonoscopy without anesthesia?
You can, but I would not recommend it. Propofol will make the experience much, much more pleasant. That is how I had my colonoscopy done :) READ MORE
Can general anesthesia for liver biopsy cause any issues?
Local anesthetic is usually sufficient, but there is no contraindication (other than specific patient issues) to doing monitored anesthesia care, or general anesthesia. READ MORE

Can I get a liver biopsy without anesthesia?
Yes. Most liver biopsies are done in a procedure room with local only. READ MORE
Is nausea common after anesthesia?
Nausea occurs in a small percentage of patients after general anesthesia (GA). Often these people are prone to nausea. There are some excellent drugs, such as Zofran) which can be given prophylactically which often will block the nausea. Zofran is very effective in the recovery room, os well, if a patient exhibits nausea. READ MORE
Can anesthesia cause lung damage?
NO, Generally not. Anesthetic gases are bronchodilators, and hence open up the lungs. If you have existing lung disease, the anesthetic must be planned so as not to compromised the lung during the procedure. If the lungs (and heart) are normal, you have plenty of reserve for GA. READ MORE
Is it best to be sedated for a colonoscopy?

Is anesthesia necessary for a colonoscopy?
No, but highly recommended. It can very uncomfortable. READ MORE
Can hip surgery be done without general anesthesia?
Yes. I prefer to give my patients spinal anesthesia with sedation. READ MORE
Can local anesthesia cause liver issues?
Local anesthetic (LA) can cause liver toxicity in very high doses that would never be used by any competent anesthesiologist or surgeon. Prior to liver damage, however, a patient wold get LA toxicity, which is characterized by ringing in the ears, numbness around face, and eventually seizures. We always limit our Xylocaine doses to much less than <4 mg/kg. Max dose given is 300 mg. READ MORE
Do you get general anesthesia for a colon biopsy?
Yes, using propofol. Technically, when the propofol concentrations above a certain level, the patient is in a general anesthetic (GA) state. Since the stimulation is much less than surgery with cutting, patients require lower doses, but whether or not the blood levels reach GA levels is academic as long as the patient is asleep and not moving. How long is anesthesia for tonsils surgery?
depends on how long surgeon takes, but usually entire anesthetic time is 45 minutes to one hour. The procedure itself does not take long, but the ENT surgeon must take great care to make sure there is no bleeding. READ MORE
How does the liver disease affect anesthesia?
Usually liver disease is not a problem. The potent inhalation agents are exhaled through the lungs; narcotics are metabolized by the liver, but usually used in lower concentrations to "smooth out" the anesthesia; in concentrations used, they do not present any problems. READ MORE
What kind of anesthesia is used for ear tubes?
general anesthesia is used with either mask ventilation or with a laryngeal mask airway. Propofol will be the principle component of the anesthetic. READ MORE
Can back surgery be done with local anesthesia?
Minimally invasive procedures could possibly be done with local, but I would recommend general anesthesia. READ MORE

Yes, of course. READ MORE
What type of anesthesia is used for liver resection?
We always use general anesthesia with advanced monitors such as an arterial line (to measure BP in real time) and a central venous pressure line (placed in the neck). This is a complex anesthetic that should be done at major medical centers where people have had experience. (Do not try this at home!!) READ MORE

Areas of research
Our group is dedicated to applications of energy techniques to healing. We have been focused on the use of electronic signals to directly promote cell healing and growth using principles of physics and quantum mechanics. Electronic cell signal treatment (EST) utilizes a sophisticated cell technique power by an far advanced electronic cell signaling device manufactured by Sanexas GMbh, Germany. All of my research utilizes the application of a digitally produced alternating current sinusoidal electronic signal with associated harmonics to produce scientifically documented physiological effects when applied to the human body. We have developed clinically proven methods for reversing peripheral neuropathy of all kinds; we have a documented 80% success rate as we continue to improve cell signaling algorithms and clinical applications.
