With over two decades of truly remarkable expertise and experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Alternative Western Medicine, Dr. Peng examines the entire state of health of each patient in order to determine the best course of treatment. She is able to treat physical disorders such as arthritis, sports injuries, tendonitis, headaches, asthma, as well as mood disorders. She also utilizes acupuncture for pain management, weight loss, and infertility treatment.

In regards to the doctor’s educational background, she studied TCM and Western Medicine at Hubei College, a leading TCM school in China, where she received her medical degree in 1985. From 1986-1990, she served as a resident within the Department of Internal Medicine at Hubei Medical University Hospital. Thereafter, from 1991-1994, she served as Director of the hospital’s Pain Management Program. 

The following year, she moved to England and worked as a staff acupuncturist at St. John’s Cancer Center. In 1996, Dr. Peng moved to the United States and worked as Clinical Supervisor at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following her certification with the NCCAOM Medical Examiners and her license from the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, she relocated to Houston, where she continues to practice to this day.

As for her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine & the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of Traditional Oriental Medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate and exercise weakened muscles.
