About

Dr. Byron Bonebreak practices Orthodontics in Howard County, MD. Comprehensive orthodontic treatment includes metal wires that are inserted into orthodontic brackets, which can be made from stainless steel or a more aesthetic ceramic material. The wires interact with the brackets to move teeth into desired positions. Being advanced in the field, Dr. Bonebreak may also use Invisalign or other aligner trays that have been designed to align a patient's? smile. As an orthodontist, Dr. Bonebreak must recognize various characteristics of a malocclusion or dentofacial deformity, define the nature of the problem, including the etiology if possible, and design a treatment strategy based on the specific needs and desires of the patient.

He enjoys the rewards of helping satisfy patients’ orthodontic needs while having a positive effect on their lives, especially for children and teenagers. He is a firm believer that an improved appearance through orthodontic treatment can greatly enhance one’s self-esteem, and enhanced self-esteem can improve one’s quality of life.

“Orthodontics enables me to play an important part in improving the dental health and self-esteem of my patients, young and old alike! I feel that there is no greater compliment than when former patients come back just to visit, and many times for me to treat their children” expressed Dr. Bonebreak.

In order to become an orthodontist, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He then graduated from West Virginia University with his Master of Science degree and a Certificate of Orthodontics.

As a Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Maryland, Dr. Bonebreak plays a role in the dental education of many of the young dentists and orthodontists in Maryland and the surrounding states.
