Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Joseph C. Loibissio, who serves patients in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Atrium Health Levine Children’s Arboretum Pediatrics is committed to providing the best available healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents. Having grown up in New Jersey, near New York City, Dr. Loibissio moved to Wake Forest in 2006. He attended Montclair State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Molecular Biology. He then went on to earn his medical degree from New York Medical College, after which he completed his residency in pediatrics at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, New York in 2006.

Following his training, he attained board certification in pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Professionally, Dr. Loibissio is affiliated with WakeMed Health and Hospitals-Raleigh Campus, WakeMed Cary Hospital, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, and Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Loibissio enjoys music and likes to spend time playing the piano and singing at church, where he also helps out with the youth ministry. His wife, Emily, works at Rex Hospital as a histotechnologist.
