In his professional experience, Dr. Sumida served in the United States Air Force as an internist for four years. After completing his fellowship, he practiced cardiology for 17 years with a special interest in interventional cardiology, performing balloon angioplasty and stenting procedures in the heart and legs. It was the evaluation and treatment of peripheral vascular arterial disease that eventually led to the treatment of venous disease as well.
The doctor has developed expertise in the treatment of varicose veins and spider telangiectasias with laser, injection sclerotherapy, and ambulatory phlebectomy (vein stripping) techniques that are all performed in the office. The cosmetic aspects of the vein practice has led him to acquire skills in BOTOX® injections, injectable fillers, and laser skin resurfacing techniques as well.
