With a broad educational background, Dr. Drelichman received her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Asunción in Paraguay in 1971. She completed her internship at the University Hospital in Asuncion in 1972, and her residency at Da Conceicao Hospital in 1974. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in infectious disease at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University in 1980 and 1982, respectively.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in infectious disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Achieving fellowship status, she is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (FIDSA). She maintains hospital privileges at Ascension Providence Hospital-Southfield, Ascension Providence Hospital-Novi, and Beaumont Hospital - Royal Oak.
