A native of Belarus, Dr. Stepanenko received her medical degree from the Minsk State Medical University. After relocating to the United States, she completed her internship at the Mt. Sinai Hospital, and did her residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. Later, she completed her fellowship in pain management at the National Pain Institute.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) and American Board of Pain Medicine ( ABPM). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R).
