    Diabetes diet consist of high proteins (fish, chicken, turkey, sometimes eggs), non starchy vegetables and very small amount of carbs (a serving of either bread or pasta or rice or potatoes or fruit). A serving is 15 grams of carb is about 1/3 of cup of cooked rice/pasta/ one medium potato. Bread and fruits - what comprises 15g is found either on packaging or for fruits on Internet.     This is a good question for nutritionist. In my experience, generally, it is a good idea to avoid carbs in the morning and concentrate on the protein (plain yogurt is ok). Because in most pregnant women highest insulin resistance is in the morning and that causes higher sugars after breakfast.
