A prominent dermatopathologist, Dr. Huttenbach is an attending physician within the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center.

For over 75 years, the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center has enjoyed a national and international reputation of setting standards for the highest quality in clinical practice, research, and education of residents, fellows, medical students, graduate students, and undergraduate students. They offer a variety of training programs, innovative research and state-of-the-art health care in the area of pathology and immunology.

Graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University, Dr. Huttenbach earned her medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine, and completed her residency in anatomic & clinical pathology at the same educational venue. Finally, she completed her fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in anatomic & clinical pathology, and dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.

Among her other roles, she can be found on staff at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, Patients Medical Center, and The Woodlands Hospital.

Active in academia, Dr. Huttenbach serves as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Immunology at the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dermatopathology is a joint subspecialty of dermatology and pathology or surgical pathology that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic and molecular level. It also encompasses analyses of the potential causes of skin diseases at a basic level. A dermatopathologist is a highly trained physician who specializes in diagnosing disorders of the skin under a microscope.
