Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Philip L. Simonian, who serves patients in Golden, Colorado.

A triple board-certified pulmonologist, Dr. Simonian has been in practice at New West Physicians Denver West Family Practice & Internal Medicine in Golden, Colorado since 1994.

Specializing in hospital medicine, he is affiliated with many local hospitals and medical centers. These include: Lutheran Medical Center, St. Anthony Hospital, OrthoColorado Hospital, Porter Adventist, Swedish Medical Center, and Littleton Adventist Hospital.

“I strive each day not only to provide the best medical care for my patients but to explain their medical conditions in an easily understandable way so they can reach their healthy goals” expressed the doctor. 

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Simonian graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Furthering his training, he performed his residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and his fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the University of Colorado.

Dedicated to his speciality, he is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system, including the nose, pharynx, and throat.

Outside of the office, Dr. Simonian enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding with his wife and two boys.
