He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery through Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, he is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
