Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Hymes earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and his Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. He then completed his postgraduate training at prestigious institutions such as the Brigham and Women’s Hospitals and the Harvard Medical Association Hospitals.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification through the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
Having contributed his extensive experience, Dr. Hymes has served as an advisor to a range of government agencies and organizations, including the Medical Board of California, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and the Los Angeles Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Addiction medicine is a medical subspecialty that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and recovery of persons with addiction, of those with substance-related and addictive disorders, and of people who show unhealthy use of substances including alcohol, nicotine, prescription medicine and other illicit and licit drugs.
