Get to know Orthodontist Dr. Robert E. Sims, who serves patients in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Dr. Sims is a skilled, board-certified orthodontist who is the Founder of Sims Orthodontics in Nashville, Tennessee. He and his team are committed to helping each patient achieve a beautiful smile. They provide exceptional orthodontic care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, and can help them create the look they have always wanted. 

With over three decades of experience helping each patient reach their smile goals, Dr. Sims regularly completes continuing education courses in order to stay at the forefront of his field and provide his patients with high-quality care. He remains dedicated to giving them beautiful smiles that will boost their self-confidence and enhance their lives.

In regards to his educational background, he attended the University of Kentucky, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, his Master of Science degree in Microbiology, and his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree. After completing dental school, he attended an orthodontic graduate program in order to specialize in orthodontics, from which he graduated in 1993. He also earned his Master of Science in Dentistry degree while completing his orthodontic graduate program.

For the purpose of advancing his professional efforts, Dr. Sims remains a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Interfaith Dental Clinic (past Board Chairman), the University of Kentucky Greater Nashville Alumni Club (past President), and the Richland Country Club (past Board Member). He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, which is a non-profit professional association for orthodontists founded in 1929.

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. As an orthodontist, Dr. Sims is responsible for identifying problems with the positioning of a patient’s teeth and with their oral development. He utilizes the most advanced procedures and equipment available to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile.

Outside of the office, Dr. Sims and his lovely wife, Laura, have two darling daughters, Audrey and Laura Hanson. Dr. Sims has been a member of the Cathedral of the Incarnation Choir since 1994. He is a World War II buff and enjoys traveling and snow skiing.
