Dr. Rhee is a board-certified plastic surgeon working with patients at her private practice in Huntington Station, New York. Due to her extensive experience and level of dedication, both women and men on Long Island and the surrounding New York and Northern New Jersey areas request consultations at her practice. She is a world-renowned plastic surgeon who is highly recognized for her expertise in mommy makeovers, breast reduction, and breast augmentation. She is also experienced in the lollipop incision technique for breast surgery.

Academically, she received her undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the History and Sociology of Science. In 1987, she entered the Marshall University School of Medicine in West Virginia, where she received her medical degree.

Following her medical education, Dr. Rhee received her training in general surgery at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. There, she worked closely with Dr. Ian T. Jackson, the internationally known craniofacial surgeon, and was the author of many research papers, which were published in both national and international journals. In recognition of her achievements, she was awarded the prestigious John R. Pfeifer, M.D. Research Award for Outstanding Surgical Research.

After completing her residency in general surgery, she received her formal training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As Chief Resident, she ran the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery clinic in the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. 

An expert in her field, the doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

During her fellowship, Dr. Rhee presented multiple research papers, published articles in the journals of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and authored varied chapters in the prestigious textbook “Grabb’s Encyclopedia of Flaps.” In 2003, she was also awarded one of the Women of Distinction of Long Island.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.
