Since May of 2012, Dr. Williams has been serving as a staff psychiatrist at Atlanta VA Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia. 

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is the largest integrated health care system in the United States, providing care at 1,255 health care facilities, including 170 VA Medical Centers and 1,074 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity (VHA outpatient clinics) to over 9 million Veterans enrolled in the VA health care program. Its mission is to fulfill President Lincoln’s promise “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Williams graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology PreMed with a BioChemistry Minor from Spelman College in 2001. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2006, after which she performed her residency in psychiatry at the Medical College of Georgia in 2010. She was honored to serve as a Chief Resident from 2009-2010.

With an unwavering commitment to her speciality, she is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Furthermore, she is board-certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties that issues “certificates of special knowledge” in the specialty of preventive medicine.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Williams is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA) and a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (FASAM).
