He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University and then went on to complete his internship at the University of Alabama. Wanting to further his education, he completed his residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at LSU Health New Orleans Health Sciences Center, followed by his fellowship in pain medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. 

Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in pain medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
