Dr. Hernandez is a vascular and wound care specialist & board-certified vascular surgeon who specializes in the minimally invasive, endovascular treatment of peripheral arterial disease and complex vein problems. He also has significant expertise in the management of patients with history of DVTs, lower extremity swelling, and non-healing lower extremity wounds.

Since July of 2015, Dr. Hernandez has been serving as the Owner of Bloomfield Vein & Vascular, PLLC in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. For more than two decades, he has tapped into the trust his patients have in him to inspire him to provide the foundation to his philosophy of practice – to provide the highest quality, most contemporary and comprehensive care available.

Beginning his journey to his medical career as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Hernandez went on to earn his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He then continued his postdoctoral training with a general surgery residency at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He rounded out his clinical training with a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.

Dedicated to the treatment of the body’s arteries and veins, Dr. Hernandez is board-certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hernandez conducts research and has been published in peer-reviewed journals. He is active in the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
