An established infectious disease specialist, Dr. Armas-Kolostroubis is the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at CAN Community Health, bringing over 20 years of experience in the public, private, and academic settings. She is passionate about patient-centered care and outcomes and firmly believes that CAN provides the kind of team environment to provide such care.

CAN Community Health has been serving the needs of the HIV community in Florida and now the southern part of the country, since 1991. They are a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the treatment, care and continual wellness of people living with HIV, hepatitis C, STDs and other diseases.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Armas-Kolostroubis got her medical education from the La Salle University Mexican School of Medicine in Mexico City, and completed her postgraduate training at UT Southwestern affiliated hospitals. Later, she joined the staff at Parkland Health and Hospital System HIV Services, another UT Southwestern affiliate, where she also became the medical lead for the Women Specialty Center, participating in the design and implementation of a medical home for women living with HIV. 

Simultaneously, she served as the Director for the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center. Family reasons led to her move to Florida, joining the University of Florida as an Associate Professor and Medical Co-Director of the UF Care, Research and Education Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. This was followed by a move to one of the largest HIV focused private practices, where she became the lead of the dysplasia clinic.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Armas-Kolostroubis is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and has been recognized as an American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist (AAHIVS). In addition to her clinical role, she is the Co-Chair for the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Priority area of the State Health Improvement Plan, and serves as Co-Chair for the American Academy of HIV Medicine Florida Steering Team. She has also served in local, state, and national work and advisory groups like the CDC, NIH, AmfAR, and others.
