Dr. Adelaide W. Simpson is a highly respected and experienced physician, having been in practice for over twenty years. Her career in medicine began in 1983 when she graduated with her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Dr. Simpson also holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master's degree in Education. Dr. Simpson has dedicated her life to delivering compassionate care and has a wide array of specialties. Dr. Simpson’s specialties include; depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, ADHD (evaluation and treatment), couples therapy, sexual abuse, separation and divorce issues and diverse ethnic and cultural populations. She is trained in cognitive therapy, EMDR, hypnosis, and collaborative divorce. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Simpson has also worked as an organizational consultant with many educational, healthcare, government and business organizations. Her meticulous approach to patient care, coupled with her dedication to her work, and contributions in her field makes Dr. Adelaide W. Simpson, Ph.D. a very worthy winner of a 2018 Top Doctor Award. Clinical psychology is an integration of science, theory and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. A psychologist studies normal and abnormal mental states from cognitive, emotional, and social processes and behavior by observing, interpreting, and recording how individuals relate to one another and to their environments.
