Professionally, Dr. Schenk is the Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey. He is also the Former Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at Morristown Medical Center.

Throughout his education, he completed his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in  Ithaca, New York. He then went on to earn his medical degree and to complete his residency in orthopedics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. His fellowship training in orthopedic trauma and joint reconstruction was completed at the University of Toronto in Canada. 

Thereafter, he became board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. Moreover, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the New Jersey Orthopedic Society.
