Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Spaw, who serves patients in Texas.

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Spaw, provides high-quality, compassionate care for adult patients with a full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. He brings more than 20 years of experience to his practice, Third Day Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, with locations in College Station and Brenham, Texas.

With a focus on treating the whole person and not just the disease, Dr. Spaw spends time getting to know his patients. He specializes in total joint replacement surgery and minimally invasive arthroscopy. He has extensive experience treating a wide range of conditions, from sports injuries like an anterior cruciate ligament tear to chronic joint pain and arthritis.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University, he went on to obtain his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in Bryan in 1993. He proceeded to finish his residency in orthopedic surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.

In addition to being a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. 

Orthopedic surgery or orthopedics is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. 

Outside of work, Dr. Spaw is a devoted Christian, husband, and father.
