He then completed his hospital-based specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
Board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Diplomate of the American Society of Osseointegration, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Furthermore, Dr. Clarizio is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, the European Association for Osseointegration, and the Seacoast Implant Dentistry Study Club (where he currently serves as President).
His research interests include biomechanics of implant design, progressive/provisional loading to alter bone physiology, implant prosthetics, bone grafting techniques, and single-stage implants.
