Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Diana Calderone, who serves patients in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. 

Dr. Calderone, a board-certified and fellowship-trained dermatologist, specializes in treating disorders of the hair, skin, and nails, as well as skin cancer surgery and skin rejuvenation techniques to minimize the effects of UV exposure and aging. “I love the science of the human body, the treatment of disease and exploring its complexity. I also feel honored, being given the trust and ability to help cure a patient’s disease. It’s a human connection, so I feel gratitude helping someone through an illness and enhancing someone’s life.” she stated.

Currently, Dr. Calderone provides advanced dermatology services, skin cancer treatments, and cosmetic procedures at her private practice, Florida Medical Clinic Dermatology & Aesthetics, in Land O’Lakes, Florida. There, she offers individualized, patient-focused treatment for melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and other skin malignancies, as well as aesthetic solutions to improve the appearance of skin following treatment. She and her team also provide routine skin examinations, biopsies, and removal of benign skin growths in their comfortable office setting.

Among her professional experience, she teaches dermatologic surgery at the University of South Florida. She is a National Botox Advisor and Educator. 

On the subject of her educational background, Dr. Calderone earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. She then went on to complete her residency in dermatology and cutaneous surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, followed by her fellowship training at the Alt Cosmetic Surgery Center in Edina, Minnesota. 

Thereafter, she earned board certification in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology, one of the 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages diseases, in the widest sense, and some cosmetic problems of the skin.

A native Floridian, Dr. Calderone was born and raised in Tampa and came back to the area after school to be near her extended family. She is married with two children with whom she spends most of her free time. Her hobbies include reading and traveling.
