He practices at The Center for the Study and Treatment of Pain at NYU Langone Health in New York, New York.

Recognized as a Center of Excellence by the American Pain Society, The Center for the Study and Treatment of Pain at NYU Langone Health offers individualized care on an outpatient basis to those suffering from transient, acute, or chronic pain. The Center provides access to a multidisciplinary group of pain medicine specialists: from anesthesiologists, radiologists, physiatrists, psychiatrists, and neurologists.

Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Calvino serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Care, and Pain Medicine at NYU Langone Health. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 2000 after he earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He then went on to complete his residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2004, followed by his fellowship in the Department of Anesthesia at NYU Langone Medical Center in 2005. 

Demonstrating clinical expertise, Dr. Calvino is board-certified in both pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The ABPMR certifies both allopathic and osteopathic physicians. It was established in 1947 as the certifying body for the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation under the American Board of Medical Specialties. 

Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. A physician having completed training in this field may be referred to as a physiatrist.
