  • Can I exercise 1 month after hernia surgery?

No. You need to wait at least two months. I suggest you speak with your surgeon. READ MORE

  • Is it normal to have pain after hernia surgery?

Yes. I have performed many hernia repairs and there is a moderate amount of pain after hernia surgery. Whether inguinal , abdominal or incisional. I believe it is because there is significant tissue dissection that must be done to do the repair. READ MORE

  • How painful is colon cancer surgery?

I don't think it is more painful than any other abdominal surgery. Your surgeon should be able to answer all of your questions. I recommend you discuss all concerns with your surgeon. READ MORE

  • What are the treatment options for kidney cysts?

It depends on the origin of the cysts. If it is an isolated cyst it can be followed. If it is polycystic kidney disease it is more serious. Then you need a kidney specialist to evaluate. I recommend you see the kidney specialist to evaluate. READ MORE

  • What surgery is done for abdominal hernia?

There are different types of abdominal hernias. Such as umbilical, incisional, inguinal, femoral, and epigastric,, All hernias need to be repaired to avoid incarceration or strangulation. An incarcerated hernia can not be pushed back. There is a danger of strangulation where the blood supply is cut off. If not reduced or repaired whatever is in the hernia contents will die and have dire consequences. Different hernias have different methods of repair. READ MORE

  • How do you fix a rectal prolapse?

See a Colorectal Surgeon. It will most likely require surgery. READ MORE

  • C-section scar itches?

The surgery was done 4 years ago. The incision is completely healed. That takes about nine months. The healing process can go on for longer. Over time the scar softens up and shrinks. It does not sound like you have a hernia at the incision site. You should be examined by your surgeon to confirm that. It could be there is inflammation around one of the sutures. There can be a delayed infection at a suture site. It would be red and tender. The best course of action is to see your surgeon. Then you can see if there could be an infection or a small hernia. Then you might require antibiotics or minor surgery for a small hernia. It may require a topical application of antibiotics or cortisone cream. READ MORE

  • Can you fix back hernia with a surgery?

I think you are referring to a herniated disc. It depends whether you have symptoms, such as back pain radiating to the legs or numbness. You would need to be evaluated by a neurosurgeon and have an MRI. READ MORE

  • Post op laparoscopic cholecystectomy infection?

You should return to see your surgeon. In that area where the laparoscope is inserted, there could be an infection there. It is possible there is bile leaking from where the gallbladder was removed. A percutaneous drain may need to be inserted. Your surgeon needs to evaluate this. READ MORE

  • Tonsillectomy procedure?

I am a vascular surgeon not Ear, Nose, and Throat. It would be unusual to make that incision unless you have an abscess... I would get another opinion. READ MORE

  • Lumbar puncture?

I doubt that what you are experiencing is from 28 years ago. You may have arthritic changes in the spine that could exert pressure on the nerve as it comes off the spinal cord. I would suggest an examination by an orthopedist or neurosurgeon. There are some findings on physical exam that might indicate a problem. An X-ray or MRI could be done if examination reveals some weakness or numbness. The fact that it is transitory might suggest that symptoms are due inflammation that subsequently goes away. It is possible that these tests would not turn up anything. If the symptoms are interfering with your activity, you should look into it. READ MORE

  • My dad has a hole with while skin around between his 4th and 5th toe?
