Can I get a bridge without a root canal?
Yes. Root canals are done to clean the infection out of the innermost layer of teeth where the nerve and blood vessels live. Bridges are done to help replace missing teeth when there are other teeth nearby that can be used as anchors. Like a "bridge" over a river that is anchored to land on both sides. Some teeth that are used as anchors may already have or need root canal treatment, but it is not required if not needed. READ MORE

What happens if you get a cavity with Invisalign?
You should get the cavity fixed as soon as possible so that it is small and doesn't keep damaging the tooth. Bring your most recent tray to the dental office and they will use it to check the filling shape so it stays the same as the original tooth and will not affect your Invisalign treatment. If the cavity is large enough that the tooth shape will be changed significantly then a new model/scan of the mouth may be needed along with a new series of Invisalign trays. READ MORE
Can you eat normally with Invisalign?
One of the big benefits of Invisalign treatment devices/trays is that you can take them off while eating and brushing your teeth. You do not have to avoid any type of food, while they are off, but to get the teeth to move properly you must wear them 20-22 hours every day. Coffee, tea, wine, soda, and food should only be consumed while they are off. This would mean avoiding long coffee-sipping breaks, chewing gum, long snack breaks, or sipping wine while watching a movie. You should track how long they are off because all of these times add up together and need to be less than two to four hours per day. You can drink water while the trays are on. READ MORE

Can you fix a broken filling?
Usually when a filling breaks, then the entire filling needs to be replaced. The bigger question is why did the filling break? Is there a cavity next to it and it is no longer supporting the filling? Is the bite too heavy on the filling? Are you grinding or clenching your teeth? The dentist needs to look at all these situations. READ MORE
