Dr. Ahad, a board-certified pediatric neurologist, is actively involved in the diagnosis and treatment planning for children with autism at the UNLV Ackerman Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Solutions.
With subspecialties in autism and neurobehavioral disorders, she also treats comorbid conditions associated with autism such as sleep difficulties, behavioral concerns, ADHD, and seizures. She is the only board-certified child neurologist in the state of Nevada with supplemental clinical fellowship training in the field of autism.
Named by Vegas Inc. magazine as one of “Top 40 under 40” in Las Vegas, Dr. Ahad is the Division Head of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics at the UNLV School of Medicine. Active in teaching students and residents in the clinic setting, she has been involved in inner city free clinics, providing healthcare to the underserved population as well as working with a teen mentorship program for students interested in the medical field.
Upon completing her undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Ahad did her residency in pediatrics at Lutheran General Hospital. She then went on to complete her child neurology training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She also completed a second fellowship in autism and neurobehavioral disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore.
Following her education, she attained board certification in neurology and child neurology through the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Licensed to practice medicine in Nevada, Dr. Ahad is affiliated with Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center & Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center.
