Back in the early days of her academic career, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1975. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, followed by her fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital.

 

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

 

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Voelpel is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (FACOI), and a Fellow of the American College of Nuclear Medicine (FACNM).
