Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Deirdre Logan, who serves patients in California.

Dr. Logan is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).  She joined USC Student Health as a full-time gynecologist in the fall of 2018, and serves an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology.  Prior to joining USC, Dr. Logan was the Chief physician of the Watts Healthcare Corporation’s Ob/Gyn department, where she also founded and directed a teen clinic.

A two-time alumna of USC, Dr. Logan graduated with her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She then completed her residency at Martin Luther King Drew Medical Center, and earned a Master’s degree in Medical Management (MMM) from USC Marshall School of Business.

Dr. Logan’s various accolades include serving twice with the Baldridge Performance Excellence Program in the Baldridge Award Board of Examiners, and in 2021 she was selected to be a CHCF Health Care Leadership Fellow. She is currently a fellow in the CHCF Health Care Leadership Program that prepares clinically trained professionals to lead California’s health care organizations and creates a network of strong and effective leaders who are focused on improving health care for all Californians. She is also a current Co-Chair for ACOG District IX’s  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and is an active member of DEI committees and a Trauma Informed Care Steering Committee within her current organization.  

She is an innovative change agent, passionate about providing and advocating for trauma informed equitable women’s health care, and she  strives to educate and empower women of all ages regarding their health and their healthcare.

The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
