Can pneumonia be fixed with medications?
Yes, with antibiotics, occasionally steroids are required as well. READ MORE
Is it okay to have breathing problems after pneumonia?
It may take some time for your lungs to heal fully so if your breathing has not returned back to normal within 2 days of treatment that is quite normal. Take it easy, stay hydrated, make sure you do deep breathing exercises and follow any other recommendations from your doctors READ MORE

A CT scan with contrast dye is safe as long as you are not allergic to the dye READ MORE

The duration of symptoms is quite long. May have started with a viral illness but seems like there may be a bacterial secondary infection and possibly a pneumonia with the respiratory rate and fever that high. Can bronchitis cause shortness of breath?
Yes, bronchitis can be associated with shortness of breath. In general, it is more likely to be associated with coughing. Depending on your underlying pulmonary health (baseline) shortness of breath may be more apparent. READ MORE

Board certified in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine, as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Ajayi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his practice. His expertise extends beyond clinical practice, as he actively engages in medical education, serving as a speaker at Continuing Medical Education events and leading resident lecture series in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine.

In addition to his focus on pediatric pulmonary and sleep disorders, Dr. Ajayihas made significant contributions as the Director for Pediatric Pulmonary Services at Florida Hospital for Children for over a decade. Furthermore, he serves as the Medical Director at the Florida Pediatric Research Institute, overseeing clinical research studies in pulmonary and sleep medicine.
