Graduating with his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1982, Dr. Brown went on to perform his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center in 1983 and 1988, respectively. He then completed an additional residency in colon and rectal surgery at UMDNJ Affiliated Hospitals in 1989.

A year later, in 1990, he attained board certification in colon and rectal surgery through the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. The Board is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties that issues certificates for practitioners of colorectal surgery.

Attributing his success to a commitment to life-long learning, hard work, integrity, and faith-based values, Dr. Brown is an active member of the Arizona Medical Association , the American College of Surgeons (Fellow), the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons (Fellow), and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations.
