Baptist Cancer Centers are located throughout the Mid-South so that patients can receive the advanced cancer care they need at a convenient location. The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in 1974. He then went on to complete his internship at the University of Alabama in 1975, followed by his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1976. Two years later, in 1978, he completed his fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Jones is board-certified in hematology and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Furthermore, he is licensed to practice medicine in several states throughout the United States, including Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Maryland, and Alabama.
