Dr. Arkin is a remarkable pediatrician who specializes in the evaluation of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD) and provides care for patients managing this disorder. Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Arkin attended college at The City College of New York and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1977. He completed his pediatric training at the Medical College of Virginia, and has been practicing primary care pediatrics since 1980 in Richmond, Virginia. He joined Dr. Wiley in 1999, forming Wiley & Arkin Pediatrics (now known as Glen Allen Pediatrics). 

Conveniently located in Richmond Virginia’s West End, Glen Allen Pediatrics provides pediatric services from infancy through the college years. The pediatricians and staff strive to provide the highest quality medical services to children in the Richmond area in a family-oriented environment with an emphasis on education, support, and health maintenance.

Dedicated to his profession, Dr. Arkin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha, as well as a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia. He is also board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, which is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. 

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. As a pediatrician, Dr. Arkin provides medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. He is trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all their developmental stages, as they grow and mature. 

Among his numerous accolades, he is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010, 2011), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2012), and Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014).

In his personal life, Dr. Arkin is married and the proud father of four grown sons. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and refereeing soccer matches.
