Receiving her medical degree in India, Dr. Chawla graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College. She also completed a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in hematology and medical oncology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
