How do you clean your teeth while having braces?
When you have braces, it seems very difficult to keep your teeth clean. You have to start by using the right type of toothbrush, make sure that it is soft. Electric toothbrushes are also excellent. In addition to brushing, flossing is equally important. Flossing probably seems impossible, as you have wires that are in between your teeth. It will take longer but definitely important. There are alternatives like floss picks you can use. I would also recommend Mouthwash. READ MORE

At Rifkin Raanan, time-honored craftsmanship, meticulous artistry and state-of-the-art dental technology converge to bring patients a new breed of Beverly Hills cosmetic dentists. They believe in enhancing one’s smile while preserving the qualities that make it unique.
“Our Beverly Hills dental practice was initially founded over 30 years ago with a singular vision — to create a new kind of cosmetic dental practice, where patients could be educated and empowered to take ownership of their dental health. We firmly believe in helping patients to make informed decisions. We take pride in guiding you step by step through the journey to an authentic smile that could only belong to you. It’s about giving you the confidence to own YOUR smile. These unique values have differentiated us from other dental practices and helped us build a name as a renowned Beverly Hills Dentist” as stated on their website.
A long-time Beverly Hills resident, Dr. Raanan attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry after earning his undergraduate degree at UCLA with Summa Cum Laude Honors. Upon graduation from dental school, he studied an additional three years at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine to earn his specialty degree in Prosthodontics and a Master of Medical Sciences degree in Oral Biology.
Seeing as there are no specific accreditation requirements for cosmetic dentistry, this additional training—accredited by the American Dental Association—substantiates Dr. Raanan’s eminent authority in the field. After graduating from Harvard, he was recruited by the UCLA School of Dentistry as part-time faculty.
He has extensive training in aesthetic dentistry, implant dentistry, full mouth reconstruction and rehabilitation, TMJ disorders, correction of bite problems, and multidisciplinary treatment coordination with highly skilled dental and medical specialists.
During his residency at Harvard, Dr. Raanan was involved with cutting-edge research focusing on advances in the use of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to fabricate restorations like ceramic crowns and fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) in dentistry.
At Harvard, his passion and strive for excellence was demonstrated in his cosmetic dental cases completed during his training. He understands how aesthetic dentistry plays an important role in contributing to a patient’s self-esteem, sense of hope, beauty, and ultimately their ability to lead a gratifying life.
Today, as the protégé of Dr. Robert Rifkin, a man many credit as the original pioneer in cosmetic dentistry, he continues to augment his extensive education by following in the footsteps of this living legend in the field of dentistry. He has followed Dr. Rifkin around the world to hear his lectures and learn the secrets that can only be found with decades of experience as an expert cosmetic dentist.
Under his tutelage and guidance, Dr. Raanan has reached an uncommon level of skill that only a handful of dentists in the world can claim. He is a leader in his field, utilizing his clinical expertise and great educational background to provide a truly outstanding service to his community.
“I believe the most aesthetic results are created by first considering the health, function and anatomical accuracy of the patient’s smile and working backward from there” expressed the dentist.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Raanan is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Harvard Odontology Club, and Alpha Omega Honor Society – Harvard and USC Chapters.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
As a hallmark to his practice, Dr. Raanan employs a unique approach to ensure the maximum comfort for each of his patients. His minimally invasive techniques mitigate any sort of pain or discomfort associated with a visit to the dentist. Through every operation he does, including basic teeth cleaning appointments, missing teeth replacements, bite re-alignments, and whitening cosmetic enhancements,he offers bespoke, personalized care suited to the individual preferences of each patient. He understands that many people fear dental work, so he gives all his clients the option of using a board-certified anesthesiologist to sleep through the treatment, and wake up to a beautiful smile.
Giving perfect personalized smiles, he has traveled to remote areas to treat children with limited access to care at mobile dental clinics, served the dental needs of the homeless population at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles, and has served on many dental mission trips to underserved areas such as Guatemala and El Salvador to provide comprehensive dental care and education.
On a more personal note, Dr. Raanan speaks multiple languages, including English, Farsi, Hebrew, and Spanish.
